We got to go to the hanging monastery in Datong. It was originally built in 491. It is clinging onto the rock cliffs and constructed of wooden beams. It is mind boggling to see.
There are three religions included in it. Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
It was built on the cliff to protect it from floods, snow, sunshine and noise.
On our way back out there was a road block far away and we had to wait hours to get out of the mountain area. Jim patiently waiting along with another belly exposed.
