A little day trip to Africa...Tunis

I woke up and could barely stand the excitement as Africa was outside of my window. We got up and had a great day. I was immediately surprised by the Arabic writing on everything. Not sure what I expected. Definitely not in Kansas anymore. (Guess I should say Idaho). It was so cool to see.
We went to Carthage the famous Roman ruins. The day was perfect, sunny warm and breezy. Those Romans have ruins every where you go in the Mediterranean.
The photo ops were unlimited. Lily packed some attitude in her suitcase. She remembered to put it on every morning. Silly Lily.

Jeff chose to not navigate all the steps. He found a scenic place to wait for us while we explored the ruins.

Don't worry, she is actually happy, just entertaining us.

Sidi bou said  is a stunningly beautiful city on the Mediterranean sea. The law says that every building must be painted white and a brilliant blue. It is lovely. The link has many more pictures of it. One of the link pictures shows some pretty painted plates. I bought one after a serious negotiating experience.

I could live in this blue and white city. I can't believe I did not get a picture of me in front of this building. I need to go back.  Did you know that blue is my favorite color?
I love this little trinket souvenir that we bought. It is a little plate that this man tapped my name on in Arabic. The tacky wall in the basement is gonna love the new things.
Camels are so cute. Camels with Lily even cuter. The girls got to go on a camel ride. Tunisia has so much to see. We only saw a tiny bit. There are famous sand dunes. Star Wars was filmed here. New continent, loved it.
