The summer storms of 2014

The summer of 2014 has been epic for storms. In July Rexburg had a whopper that blew in and took direct aim at BYUI. (In my opinion). Within minutes the skies dumped two inches of rain. There was major flooding in town. I thought my house was going to come down in it. We went out to see what it looked like in town and were shocked at what we saw.

The farms suffered major damage. The next couple of storms just made the damage worse. My poor flowers drowned literally. Just too much water this summer.

The next storm was on our way home from SLC. Frightening storm.
The forecast was for more flooding rain so I headed down and filled up sand bags to protect the office. Have to say it was kind of fun.

My house sprung leaks in all the intense raining.
Then it started flooding in St. George. We kept an eye on the storms via our security cameras. This picture is lit by lightening and shows the growing lake behind the house.
The girl friends hiking trip to Havasupai met up with the next flooding storm. It was a whopper. It destroyed I 15 between Las Vegas and St. George. We had to take a detour that added about 5 hours to our drive.
We followed a Penske truck for hours. You could not pass it because every car and truck meant to be on the freeway was on this two lane road. Sheeesh.

Miles and miles of semi's on this road.
One more storm. It did produce the most beautiful rainbow ever.
