Barcelona to Montserrat Spain

My last post on our Mediterranean adventure. We spent another day in Barcelona and one in Montserrat Spain. They are both wonderful places. The sites and shopping in Barcelona were the best.
The streets of Barcelona are great for walking. They are ancient and full of fun shops.
Ana amongst the pigeons.
There are many people in the streets begging. This little lady caught our attention and Lily gave her some money.

The final day we took the train to Montserrat. It is a monastery up in the mountains. It is surrounded by fascinating rock formations.
We got to hear the world famous Boys Choir.
We hiked a little.

The buildings are built right into the rocks.
The wildflowers were in full bloom.

There are a couple of funiculars which run straight and I mean straight up the mountains. They let you see some some stunning scenery.
Lily was in rare form.
There is a lot of beautiful art work. I love to collect Nativity sets in our travels. This painting is lovely. I fell in love with the soft colors. Unfortunately it is very large and would not fit in our suitcase.
Our big adventure came to an end. We loaded up the bags and started for home. What a wonderful time we had. So many memories and good times. Can't wait to do it again.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures of Barcelona. It looks like a fun place to go. The girls look darling with their braids.
