It really was a total eclipse of the sun!

Ready for the big day. We had a waffle bar with all of the trimmings.
After breakfast we all found our spots in the yard.
The eclipse shirts started showing up.
There was early morning meditation in the back yard. A lot of people showed up in Rexburg to meditate and celebrate the eclipse in many different ways.
The three Eileen's are ready for the eclipse.
The sun began to be covered by the moon about an hour before totality. You could only see it with your special eclipse glasses.
Everyone was in high spirits. We ate food, snacked, took peeks at the sun. It was so fun.
The eclipse had begun so we snapped a couple of group pictures. We had visitors from California and Meridian and Eagle.

Fluffy had the time of her life.

It was all so awesome. Every single minute of it. The crowd was doing and awing.
Maggie was not about to be left out.

I got to sit in with the grand kids that were here for a picture. Getting more exciting every minute.
We played a sheet on the ground and filtered the sun through a colander. You could see the shape of the eclipse through the holes.
 Best sister ever.

It started to get dark. It also started to get cold. It was a different color and cold then you have ever seen or felt. So many things to see and sense with an eclipse.

The Nutting family came from California. They are friends of Rachel's.

It got darker and then suddenly there was the diamond ring that you have always heard about. It was so amazing and beautiful. It is something that you cannot explain to someone who has not seen it in person. So amazing. Then you take your glasses off and see the corona around the moon. So incredible.
This picture was taken in Jackson Hole Wyoming.

he streets were lined with cars that drove to Rexburg in the middle of the night. They slept in their cars. The drive back to Utah for so many was an 8 hour trek.

The whole day was filled with beautiful sun shots.
