Dominican Republic doings

On Monday we met with several of the Doctors we have worked with in NRT in the past. It was great to see them again. We were able to take some of the newborn kits with us to donate to Hospitals. Just for fun I am showing you the other end of the process. Many of you have helped make them at home. We opened up the shipping container and loaded them into the car.  They were delivered to a Maternity Hospital to be given to Mom's who need something to take their baby home in. A blanket, gown, diaper, pins, booties and a bar of soap.

After we completed our meetings we headed back to Santo Domingo but could not resist a stop on a beach. A couple of Missionary couples strolling down the beach. It was a perfect sunny day. The interesting thing is the beaches and resorts are deserted.  We went to a FHE with all of the couples serving down here. There was a power point presentation by our good friends Kip and Arden  Hansen. They showed wild life and flowers from the camp they are developing here. It looks beautiful and we are hoping to get to see it before we head home. It is a Church camp for youth and families to use.
We are working with a new couple here. The Francom's from Preston Idaho.  We are enjoying them and look forward to working with them.
Last night they put out the word that they really badly need some Spanish speaking couples down here, so I have passed the word.

Sounds like you guys are doing well! I miss you! Oh by the way Nick's mission president is from Rexburg, I'll have to see if I can send the name to see if you know them. Take care!

Mary, the info re the initiatives was awesome...good to know! We miss you, as usual, and can't wait for you both to get home. I guess we are selfish...and don't like to share you with the rest of the world! But I guess we all have to sacrifice =) C-ya Fri! Becky C.

I feel like everyone else, the beach looks great! I can't imagine the time and energy you spent on things more challenging. You need to stoll the beach just to refresh. Hope all is well. Come home safe!

The beach, the blue sky, the blue water are calling to me! It's been awhile since we've been on a beach vacation. Too bad you weren't able to slip into your suits for a quick dip!
