God Bless America

I am sure everyone has strong feelings about the anniversary of 9/11. I know I do. I vividly remember riding to Idaho Falls with my friend Terry Conrad. We were going with a group of emergency preparedness people for Idaho on a tour of the INEL site. We heard on the radio that a small plane had struck the World Trade Center. We then listened to the whole thing unfold. We spent the next couple of hours hearing updates via cell phone calls. Shortly after arriving at the INEL they escorted us back off of the site due to security issues. It was a solemn ride back to Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
I have a heavy heart today remembering the events of that day. While looking for a picture to post today I saw a picture of bodies falling from the tower. I am so so sad about the people I saw in those pictures. What an evil horrible act happened that day.
Two summers ago we visited New York City with some of our girls. It is a sobering thing to stand on the site of the World Trade Center and know what took place there. God Bless America ( being an international traveler, God Bless the people of the entire planet) and all of those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attack on America. God bless those who are serving our country in the Military. Thank you for working to preserve our freedoms and to help eliminate terrorism in the world.

We focus so much on the major events in life and the feelings and memories they conjure up. This is such a sad day for the world, my heart is heavy. The little things can be just as strong. I remember growing up with you and looking up to you. There was one time in particular that you let me tag along with you and Colleen that made me feel sooooo special. I remember it well. We went to GEM and ate and shopped and laughed and I had the best time. I even remember looking at clothes and holding silly items to us and laughing histerically. Thanks for the fun memories.

I had kind of forgotten about GEM. I remember getting french fries there a lot. I think it was kind of a tacky store but we loved going there. Wonder if it is still around? My biggest memory of living there was playing out on the play area around back. A dream of a set up for kids.
