Madison County is celebrating their 100 year birthday. A centennial year celebration. This weekend they had an old fashioned potato dig. People brought their horses and old fashioned potato diggers. It was a pleasant day and we had a lot of fun watching the activities. People flooded the field and hand picked the spuds off of the ground.
Jeff and Bart both remembered picking spuds up the old fashioned way.
I am not a horse lover but I did stand by them long enough to get a picture.
Everyone old and young joined in picking up the spuds filling sacks and old potato baskets.
There were wagon rides and hot chocolate.
We live in the heart of Idaho Famous Potatoes and those spuds deserved the celebration that was held.
