Today we went in search of a great steak dinner and ended up in Manhattan...that is Manhattan Montana. The steaks were great. The drive was beautiful. On the way home we passed a field and saw this bear. Check out those glowing eyes. Suppose he has vampire blood in him.

Survived the Beartooth Pass trip
Last Thursday we headed north, two Corvettes and I think eight motorcycles. There were 20 people total. We had a wonderful time. We did have some challenging weather. At Cooke City we started into a storm. By the time we reached the top of the Beartooth Pass it was a bit of a blizzard. The rain/snow was coming horizontally. There was lightening that was popping all around us. You could see where it was hitting the ground. Very very frightening. We arrived in Red Lodge happy to be out of the storm. The bikers were also very cold.
Jeff did get out of the warmth of his car to help someone and got a lot of rain on his glasses. There is something to be said for living life and being part of nature including storms and adventures. I should have been a weather girl. I love it, even when it is scary.
Friday morning we woke up to sunshine. This time crossing the pass was beautiful. We had to stop and wait for construction. I was happy about that because we got to get out and enjoy the scenery. Wild flowers are late this year and in great abundance.
We stopped to check out a waterfall and took this group photo. You can click on it to see everyone. We headed over to Cody Wyoming. On Saturday we drove through Yellowstone and arrived home after many rain and hail storms. The temperature on this trip stayed in the 40's and 50's. Happy to say that it is warming back up. Dang that global warming. This is going to be the shortest summer in my memory.
