Feigleson get together

It was a challenge but we got the Feigleson clan together today. Weather and sickness wreaked havoc on the plans. Mitch and Leslie were snowed in over in Boise. Jake and family were sick and could not come. So we are still in search of the 100% attended get together. We had a yummy dinner from the Olive Garden and the kids played. My nephews Josh and Carston amazed us all with their musical talent. I asked if we could have back stage passes when they become famous.
Under great protest we tried to take some family pictures. We got a few.
Julie, Mike my brother, Jeff, Mary, Beth my sister, Gary, Pat my brother and his wife Jennifer. The picture below includes my Dad and stepmother Barb.

A new twist on Christmas in 2008

What a day. We woke up to the forecast snow storm in progress. Lots of snow, I would say a foot of it blowing around. Shortly after getting out of the shower the power went out. So no hair dryer. Bad hair day. We opened our presents by lantern light and then ate candy for breakfast.
After our sub nutritious breakfast we then headed out so Jeff could check on his patients in the hospital. The roads were treacherous and few cars were out. Check out the snow cat coming up the road. The only safe mode of travel today. It was headed to take care of the power outage.
We went to check on Nell and dig out her front walk. We brought her home with us for some brunch once the power came back on at noon. Below is a pickup nearly buried in snow.
And finally I think I am sick. I have the aches pretty bad. A repeat of what I had in Kauai earlier this month. Addy, Ava and I hit the couch and fell right to sleep. Matt, Chalene and Margot made it out and ventured up also. Everyone decided they better get home while the getting was good.
They have now put up a warning that the storm that was to end tonight is now extended into tomorrow. They have added a warning I have never heard of. It is called a convergence that will potentially sock us with a deadly storm tonight. All I have to say is you may never see us again until April. Holy cow it is winter here. Can't wait to see the other snow bound bloggers and how they are doing.

The first week of winter? Yikes!

We survived one of the worst storms I have seen in years. It snowed for three days, heavily Monday. Then the wind blew like crazy. This morning all east/west roads were closed. We were out and about when it hit and it was ferocious. Here are some pictures. The one above with the snow plow is kind of funny. Look at the man's face who just blew out his driveway and the plow is filling it back in. I had my camera in my lap. Do not turn me in.
The snow is deep! The roads in town are full of snow and cars are stuck everywhere. They plowed it all into the middle of the road and then you had to drive across the piles. This picture is at the entrance to Porters store. So much snow!!!
This is the parking lot at the office. This mountain of snow is probably 15 feet deep. This is the snow from one storm. That is one of my new planted trees in the middle of it. The picture below was taken before the wind arrived. The yard lights have about a foot of snow on them. Isn't mother nature creative. I have not looked but I bet Mr. Wind knocked them down.
The next storm is slated to arrive tomorrow.

Think we can top this? I do!

These pictures were taken last year about two miles from our house on a country road. I thought we would never have another winter like last year again. It is looking like it could be. The forecast for today is a big storm tonight. I woke up and looked out. Low and behold it is dumping snow already. The weathermen missed the timing on this one.
