Vickie Rucker and her husband are Humanitarian Missionaries in Buenos Aires. We work with them on our NRT trips. She was with me when I bought my tablecloth in Asuncion Paraguay. She found out the name of the lace so I am adding a link so you can see more about it. It is very beautiful and I was happy to learn more about this lace. Legend is that a young couple were about to be married. He went into the jungle and did not come back the night before the wedding. She went and found him in the jungle but he was dead. The spiders had woven a web over him. She went and got a needle and thread and reproduced the web in lace. So Nanduti lace translates to spider lace. In all of our travels this is one of my favorite things I have bought. I also bought a little piece that I am having framed today. It is of the finest quality. Picture to come after framing.

May Day, May Day!
This is what we woke up to on this first day of May! There is going to be some deep depression in Rexburg today! It snowed yesterday too. The never ending story this year.
So I did what I love to do on a snowy day...whipped myself up a nice cup of hot chocolate. Notice the flowers. I had to buy some indoor ones as there is no hope for them outdoors.
This is a tablecloth I bought in Paraguay. They make beautiful linens that have a knotted design in them. We found a wonderful store there that has so many beautiful things. I love this one and the pattern. Can't wait to go back someday and get some more. This is unique to Paraguay. You can click on them to see the details of the work. All hand done.

OK here are my quirks
I am still catching up from the trip down south. But I am going to take a few minutes and answer the quirk tag. Here goes:
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.
3.Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks that you have.
4.Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.
5.Leave a comment on each of the 6 blogs telling them that they have been tagged
I am going to break the rules and just answer about my quirks:
I am going to break the rules and just answer about my quirks:
Quirk #1 I asked Jeff once what thing I do makes him most crazy and so it goes here as my first quirk. I cut the ends off of pickles. Sorry I cannot eat the little butt ends of them.
Quirk #2 I love cold cereal in the morning. I do not understand Rachels thinking that it is bad for you. Life cereal and cold milk are the best. I remember the day Life cereal came out. I was about 5 years old and you got a little finger puppet in the box. The little lamb named Lamb Chop was my favorite from a TV show that had (Sherrie Lewis I think) and finger puppets. I clearly remember eating handfuls of the cereal and fell in love.
Quirk #3 I drink milk occasionally out of the carton. Sorry!
Quirk # 4 I love the Weather Channel. I could have been a weather girl. I have the weather channel on my computers and look at least every hour. I also have the earthquake reports on my computer and check them a couple of times a day. It is a cool map that shows where they are for that day. You would be surprised how many there are and the patterns of them.
Quirk #5 French fries!!!!I love them and sometimes sneak down to Arctic Circle to eat some. They are the best ones in town. I do try to limit the indulgence to once every couple of months now.
Quirk #6 I do not eat hamburgers....EVER, never have and never will. People do not believe me but it is true. I have never ever eaten a hamburger in my life. I do not like them. As a little girl I would eat mustard sandwhiches and was perfectly happy to toss the burger to the dog. If my dad reads this he can comment and confirm this.
So there you go, I am also a quirky person. Jeff is hysterical right now reading this. How can he laugh at such normal things.
OK so now I am going to kill two questions. Here are my nick names:
Mare
Mare Bear
Mother Mary
Madre
Sweetie
Mur
That is all I can think of. I think I am caught up for now. Happy blogging to all.

Some waterfalls in South America
We are back in the USA. We have a 4 hour layover in SLC so killing time in the airport Crown Room. (Hughie Lewis is killing time here also). Here is a quick post on some water falls we got to see. Above is a place called Monday Falls in Ciudad del Este. We had just left Iguazu Falls and stopped to see these also. The group is all the people that helped do the NRT course.
Iguazu Falls is one of the coolest waterfalls on earth. We got to see lots of rainbows this time. It was our second trip to see the falls.
On Saturday morning we went to the Itaipu Dam. We found out it is one of the seven modern wonders of the world. Great place to tour. We got to see one of the spillways open which apparently hardly ever happens. That is what you see in these two pictures.
