Snow pictures

This is in front of our neighbors house. The snow formation kind of (real stretch) made me think of a bride.

We finally got a chance to drive around today. This is the waterfall at the roundabout in Idaho Falls. The water fall is frozen. Quite pretty.
We drove up past the railroad tracks at Walkers Siding. It was very snowy. The people that live up here were snowed in for days. We turned the corner and saw this amazing road with just a path plowed through. We drove the whole length. The two pictures below are that road. It is just a couple miles from our house.
I am waiting for the moose to come into our yard. They often do in the winter. I got the owl...I will get the moose. We did see moose on our drive.

Random pics for today

In all my temple pictures I forgot to take the best one. This is my bedroom window. What a night light we have. Actually from around midnight to five in the morning they dim the lights.
Some have asked about the new eating plan that Jeff, myself and Andy are on. We started a wellness program at the RMC. It is a diet that targets insulin resistance and weight loss. You eat all your carbs early in the day and they are limited. Dinner you can only eat protein and free foods which are basically vegetables. We actually are enjoying it. This is our dinner tonight. Spinach salad with tomatoes and avocados (not on the plan but not a carb). We added salmon from last nights dinner. Pretty good. By eating just protein for dinner you burn fat all night instead of spiking your insulin which causes you to get fat. We will keep you all posted on our progress. Jeff is rocketing towards the big 200 and will soon go under it for the first time since I met him. The good news is that once a week you get a free day to eat whatever you want. Ice cream, pizza, you name it. I am saving one free day to have that hot chocolate with Berta.

Gotcha Mr. Owl

Those who have been around here know that I have been trying to see or photograph the owls for a couple of years. Tonight I got the picture. I saw it fly by the back of the house so ran and got the camera. I ran out into the back yard and (no lie) sunk up to my waist in snow. And I had a skirt on. So I leaned forward resting my arms on the snow and got this picture. It is sitting on the lights on Hills basketball court. Cool huh...in more ways than one. WHOWHO!

Rexburg Temple Dedication

Today the Rexburg Temple was dedicated. It is now a working Temple. As you all know we have had ferocious weather here for weeks. This morning we woke up to heavy fog. So much fog that President Monson had to fly into Pocatello and be driven up here. This meant that the ceremony was over a half hour late starting. President Eyring was not able to come at all due to a fall that broke his ankle. And finally they announced that President Faust's wife died this morning. But today turned out to be the nicest day we have had this winter. Warm and sunny. We attended the first session at 9. Jeff then had to report to ER duty. So I got my camera and spent an hour just walking around the Temple taking pictures. It will be good for Rexburg to return to "normal". It is kind of like Christmas. It is all great but nice to have over and things back in order. It has been a very nice day. It is the first time I have been able to see a Prophet. He was very kind and took time to say something to the people as he passed them. All is well...all is well.
