Help I've fallen and I can't get up!

Here comes another post. Up to 3 now for today. I decided that I had to get out of my house today. So I called Robin and we met out front with our snowshoes. It was a trick getting over the snow on the side of the road into the field but we made it. Decided to go across the field. It was a workout. We sunk deep into the snow even with snowshoes on. We had to cross the fence which was, as you can see very easy. We just stepped over it.
Here I am stepping over the fence.
Since I had my camera I decided to lay in the snow and shoot across the field for some snow shots. When I finished I realized it was not going to be so easy getting up with snow shoes on. Thanks Robin for catching this on the camera. LOL We had trouble with our poles collapsing so we trekked up to the Temple Foyer and they gave us some tape. They are setting up all the equipment for the dedication tomorrow.

Soon we will be stranded in the House!

I opened the garage door and was amazed at the snow formations outside. You can see the snow now above our garage windows (which are high). Sorry I did two posts this morning. You will have to look below also.
East side of the house. Check out the unique swirl of snow below.

Another day in Paradise

Today was sunny at times. However it blew like crazy, once again closing roads and schools. One school stayed open and they could not get the kids back home so there was grief over that. This was the road as I drove home from work near my house. I think if you click on it you can see the blowing snow.
This is Pole Line Road. They have given up plowing at times. Several counties around us have been declared disaster areas. So far Madison County is hanging in there.
This is how much snow is everywhere. Many roads are narrow now because there is nowhere else to put the snow. Below is the driveway into Crest Haven Church.

Road update for Idaho

I know Susan and Bryan are thinking of coming up this way this weekend. Here is a link to the road situation. You can check it to make your decision. It is a cool road report. Pass the mouse over the different icons and get a detailed report. Check the cameras out also. Right now the road to Island Park is closed. As you see many roads in and out of our area are closed. All schools are closed again today also. The winds are supposed to kick up to 40mph this afternoon. So far they have not. I will update you as things change.

Here is how my day went

I started out like most days lately. Amazed at the amount of snow there is. Here is our mailbox. We now have to dig it out everyday also.
Went to work and surprise!! They accidentally drilled a big bit into the main gas line just as it comes into the building in the basement. They came and found me and said "we need everyone out right now". So we frantically rounded up staff and patients and rushed them out into the freezing cold. The police, fire and ambulance responded. Oh boy. I told everyone to come back in an hour. By then they had it all under control and we returned to work. The smell of gas lingered all day. Very very frightening experience. As I ran to get my coat in my office (should not have done that) the thought came to me. If something sparks...this is how I will die.
Maybe the snow is not such a boring subject after all. Here is a tree in front of my porch. This is all snow that fell last night. Kind of interesting don't you think?

Christians Birthday

Last night it SNOWED again. Jeff cleared the deck off this weekend and this is what is on it this morning. About 8 inches of snow. It was just supposed to be a little bit of snow. The big snow comes tonight along with major winds again.

Here is the front view. You can barely see the next door neighbors pickup. Check out the snow on top of it, just from last night. Oh and Berta and I have thrown down the challenge to find the best snow picture. So check both our sights for entries.
Had to take a break from the snow pics. We stopped by the bowling alley for Christians birthday party. Addie just bowled a spare.
The party group.
Couldn't resist the picture of the guy on the next lane. Jeff was dying that I took this picture, but how can you not. You get the best shots when you do not plan on them. Tattoo any one?
Then a photo in front of the Gringso's mural.

The Never Ending Story

Yes this is a woodpecker on my roof. The other day I heard a noise and I thought...Is Jeff hanging a picture or pounding a nail? I investigated and found this guy pecking away at the roof.
I was coming home recently from my morning walk and discovered on my steps the little bare footprints of a child. Not sure who they belong to and they are hard to see here, but we grow hardy kids here in Idaho. We have to.
We now have a three time a day shoveling routine. You do not dare let it go too long or it becomes too heavy to lift. This is Jeff shoveling so he can get out of the garage. Below is the snow on the side of the streets. Many places it is now 10 feet high.

I know you are all tired of seeing and hearing about our snow. But it will not end. The forecast for today is 30% chance of snow tonight and then lots of snow overnight turning into blowing and drifting snow the next two days. I just want to vent here...IT IS ALREADY SNOWING AT 8 IN THE MORNING. THE TREES ARE ALREADY STARTING TO TWITCH FROM THE WIND. Thanks for listening to me. Today is the first day in weeks that all of the schools are open. I predict they close early in some places. What a winter.
