What a fun weekend I am having!!!

I have spent the weekend going through boxes in my basement of pictures, cards, newspaper clippings etc. I found things I did not know that I had. I did not know anyone had them. I found this picture of Jeff and his family. He is dying that I found it because I told him he looks like PeeWee Herman. I just love this picture. Just in case you cannot tell...Jeff is on the right. I think it is the only one of his family. I will make copies for anyone interested.
This picture was taken when Rachel was about 1 week old. I was not much older than that myself. Actually I must have been 19. I remember Andy asking me this day what Iwas doing when I nursed her. I told him that is how she drinks milk. He said "does the other one have chocolate milk in it?"

WOW is all I can say about this picture. I had never seen it or the others thatI found. I cannot quit looking at it. I am going to start tomorrow on a new Heritage Makers book. Cannot wait. Any guesses who is in the picture?

After the storm...

I drove to work this morning with my camera up to my face. The Temple did not look as if it had been through a storm. Just bright against the blue sky. The flag is flying half mast.
This guy like hundreds others is snow blowing his way down the sidewalk. He disappeared behind this tall drift.
Check out the size of the drift across these stairs. Level with the snow. Below is the road a block from my house that is closed due to extreme drifting. This road is now plowed out and the bank is about 10 feet tall. Today we did not get any snow, although it did stay pretty breezy. Looks like more is coming tonight and tomorrow.

Morning update

Well we got up this morning amazed at the snow and drifts. This is our roof. You cannot see the top of the snow from this shot. I suspect we will need to shovel it off soon.
Looking out the kitchen window. The drift is as high as the windows. About 5 feet deep.
Looking out the front door. Andy shoveled the walk last night. Not a trace of his hard work. Below is the east side of the yard. Again about 4 feet of snow. The sun is actually coming out right now. But they tell us the next storm arrives this afternoon and tonight. Every road and school for 50 miles is closed, including the Interstates. We have tickets to President Hinkley's funeral but will not be driving to Utah tonight or in the morning to attend. They predict two major storms between this morning and Sunday. Looks like Salt Lake it getting hit again also.

Here we "snow" again!

I took this on the way to work. It was starting to blow but the storm was not here yet.
By tomorrow I think that our house will have disappeared. It is storming very hard tonight. I had a tough ride home from the office...drifting and zero visibility. There is a 3-4 foot drift across the driveway. Where are Greg and Susan?
The only way I knew what way to go was the Temple at the end of the street. The picture below does not tell the whole story. It is actually snowing hard and blowing. If the trend holds for this winter by morning our power will be out. I am pretty sure we will have to be shoveled out. Update tomorrow morning. I LOVE IT!!!

Gordon B. Hinckley

We will all miss him for sure. I think I can speak for everyone in Rexburg that we are sad he is not here for the Temple dedication but happy that he is with his wife again. God be with you till we meet again.

We all were together this weekend. Everyone came from near and far to see the Temple Open House. We enjoyed everyone that came even those that just stayed a few minutes. Jennifer and some of her kids came, a friend from Logan...Dr. Michael Visick and Chad Hugie from our Peru trip came up. It was a big weekend. We ate more food than I thought possible. We played in the snow at the Winter Fest in Smith Park, we scrap booked, watched movies and had a birthday party for Ella (6). Some came in bad weather and left in bad weather. We had to do a quick send off to get them on the road as there is a monster storm hanging out here. They all made it safely. Sorry Christian and Andy are missing from the pictures. They had sore throats and were not able to join us.
