It's snowing in Rexburg

We woke up to the sound of sleet against the window. You knew it was more than rain by the sound. Sure enough...SNOW. The weather has been so nice it was kind of a shock. Probably not as shocking to us as it will be to Mitch in the great outdoors. So I hurried and snapped the last shot of my begonias which will be gone tomorrow from frost. It is actually snowing in these shots but hard to see. The last shot of the full moon also as now it will be cloudy. It was taken over the wheat field. And the tree shot was at RMC. We came out and the setting sun was coming through making the leaves look like they were made of liquid gold.

Full moon

As everyone knows there is a full moon this week. I took some morning and night shots of the moon and the temple. As you can tell I have had fun catching the many different looks of the Rexburg Temple. I took two of these this morning with the moon setting while we went on our daily walk. What a neat thing it is to walk by everyday. Then I went behind the temple tonight to catch the moon rising. Notice the sunflowers in the morning shot with my friends. They are still hanging in there. Snow predicted this weekend so they are soon to be gone.

Salamanders Photo Gallery

Salamanders Photo Gallery by Bev Wigney at pbase.com

Here is the promised salamander post that I mentioned in a recent comment area. When I was a young girl I collected salamanders while living in Minnesota. I loved the slimy little critters. I would go out in the morning and check all of the neighbors window wells for them. Some were pretty big (as in a foot long). Somehow we came upon a big cardboard refrigerator box and built salamander world in it. Ponds, sticks to crawl on, grass and leaves. I think we had a large number of them, up to 70 unless I am too many years away from that to remember.
So one day my Dad had a friend come to visit. He had a can of beer and poured some into the salamander pond. A bunch of them died. So sad. I have not really seen any since then. I think I was in the fourth grade. The man's name was Mike Dabiski. How is that for a memory from the past? I never saw the man again either. And that concludes my salamander post.
