Autumn day

Today was as pretty as a day can get. Hope everyone was out enjoying it. We went to Idaho Falls to see the Parade of Homes. It was fun...22 homes. We could not get to all of them so might finish up the tour tomorrow. We did not see anything that "blew our skirts up" as Jeff would say. We did see a family room that had a stuffed grizzly bear in it. So one more close encounter with a grizzly this summer. If Jeff can figure out how to e-mail the picture from his camera I will post it.

Almost the weekend!!

Not much interesting to report to day. We spent the day doing errands at the office and here at home. We are fixing up all of the little things in the house that you put off forever. Light bulbs, unfinished details, minor repairs. We walked through the house and made a list of everything that needed to be done. Next stop was Home Depot to buy the supplies. Jeff and I had a minor disagreement about whether to go to Home Depot or Lowes. I like Lowes better, Home Depot looks like a big dirty warehouse. He nearly cried when I mentioned that to him. So I settled for the Depot. Must be a guy thing.
The garage picture is just for fun. We fixed it up two years ago and I still love to look at it. So tidy and organized (it used to be a garage that was out of control). One of our little fixer uppers is to finally add the coving base around the nice floor.

God Bless America

I am sure everyone has strong feelings about the anniversary of 9/11. I know I do. I vividly remember riding to Idaho Falls with my friend Terry Conrad. We were going with a group of emergency preparedness people for Idaho on a tour of the INEL site. We heard on the radio that a small plane had struck the World Trade Center. We then listened to the whole thing unfold. We spent the next couple of hours hearing updates via cell phone calls. Shortly after arriving at the INEL they escorted us back off of the site due to security issues. It was a solemn ride back to Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
I have a heavy heart today remembering the events of that day. While looking for a picture to post today I saw a picture of bodies falling from the tower. I am so so sad about the people I saw in those pictures. What an evil horrible act happened that day.
Two summers ago we visited New York City with some of our girls. It is a sobering thing to stand on the site of the World Trade Center and know what took place there. God Bless America ( being an international traveler, God Bless the people of the entire planet) and all of those who lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attack on America. God bless those who are serving our country in the Military. Thank you for working to preserve our freedoms and to help eliminate terrorism in the world.
